Mars Close Approach

Mars reaches opposition on the 7th of November, and will remain well placed for observation until the end of the year. Although not quite as close as the last opposition in 2003, Mars is better placed for viewing this time, being higher in the sky. Look for Mars close to the Pleiades, rising in the southeast shortly after sunset.
