This summer saw the most complete partial eclipse visible in the UK since the total eclipse of 1999. Although the earlier partial phases were briefly visible from Stirling, clouds rolled in before the maximum. This image, taken a moment earlier, captured the full Sun before clouds started to form. A number of sunspots can be seen on the face of the Sun, with one just about to be covered up by the approaching Moon. Imaged using a Herschel Wedge.
