Stirling Astronomical Society Gallery

A selection of features on the gibbous Moon, two days after First Quarter. This image shows the craters Tycho and Clavius, two of the most distinctive craters on the Moon's southern highlands. Tycho (left of centre) is a circular crater with a prominent central peak. The larger Clavius (below) features a very distinctive arc of secondary craters of gradually decreasing size.
