Stirling Astronomical Society Gallery

The Western Veil (NGC 6960) is part of the larger Veil Nebula, a supernova remnant in Cygnus. Sometimes known as the Witch's Broom, this part of the nebula is approximately 35 light years in length. The bright star near the top of this image is 52 Cygni. Imaged using dual band filters.
